Desert Flowers

This has been a glorious summer in Santa Fe. Robust monsoons brought plenty of rain, making the desert lush with wildflowers; the cacti are wreathed with grasses and other annuals that have waited, dormant, for this rare opportunity to bloom.

I am fortunate to live in an area where I can hike with my camera down an arroyo near my home where my only companions are the flowers and antelope. Above, a pair of ravens plays tag in the warm morning breeze.
